Improves the aging face by correcting sagging jowls, neck and cheek folds creating a more youthful rested appearance.
Technique: Typical incision begins in the hair line, above the temple and continues above the temple or just inside the ear continuing around the ending behind the ear. This allows access to tighten underlying tissue, remove access fat and reduce sagging skin. A second incisionunder the chin is sometimes necessary. If skin tone is good and only mid-face aging or excess fat has to be corrected, abbreviated technique with shorter incision may be used. Liposuction technique may assist with removal of fat deposits.
Generally performed as an out patient procedure under local anaesthesia with sedation; general anaesthesia can be used.
